Wellness Policy
The Southbridge Public School District is committed to providing an environment that enhances learning
and development of lifelong wellness practices. This policy serves to guide the District toward a school
community and community at large that enjoys higher levels of wellness. It is intended to be a living
document that will evolve with progress toward our goals. We recognize a spirit of collaboration with
community organizations is an essential component to ensure the health of our youth
Each school will establish an individual Wellness Committee. School Wellness Committees shall
examine their school’s learning environment and organizational traditions to identify inclusive practices
and opportunities to celebrate diverse cultures and identities maintaining the Wellness Advisory
Committee’s standards for cultural proficiency (page 4). This includes the physical environment, the
academic environment, classroom curriculum, and promotional materials.
